Congratulations Katybug and Sharlene! You'll love Courting Trouble! ~Deb
That's my best WOO HOO! pose. I tried to do a Tiger Woods fistpump, but it didn't translate well to film. Oh well...it's not pretty but gets the job done. And I can promise you, Dee, that you aren't NEARLY as excited for me as I AM!!!! I got the email and screamed so loud that I scared my poor husband out of his wits! He came tearing around the corner, worried that something was wrong--I don't scream often, not even for roaches. He was not impressed when I told him, "Oh...um...I won a book." Gotta go...mail's here!!! WOO HOO!!!!
OMIGOSH...WHERE ARE MY MANNERS???? THANK YOU, DEE!!!!!
I'm bettin' Katybug has cheerleading experience! And look at Shar's beautiful doggie! Lucky girls!

I am so excited! My signed copy of Courting Trouble came today! Yea! Congratulations to me! :) And congrats to you, too, Katy! Aren't we lucky? I'm currently about 1/4 of the way through Jan Karon's A New Song. Dee's book will follow that, even though I have about four others on my waiting list. When I found out I was the lucky winner, Courting Trouble quickly went to the top of my list!
Barb, don't you just love my big dog? He's such a beaut and an absolute doll--all 110 pounds of him!
Thanks for the book, Dee! I LOVE IT!
Love you all!
YAHOO!!!! Congratulations to both of you. (I will not covet, I will not covet, I will not covet) And I'm so glad I can put a face to the names now. LOL
Shar - I love Jan Karon's books. They make me want to live in Mitford! lol
I just finished reading "An Echo in the Darkness" by Francine Rivers. Oh. My. Goodness. I just started it yesterday after finishing the first book, "A Voice on the Wind", on Tuesday night. Now when I get the gumption I'm going to run upstairs (I use the term "run" loosely) and grab the third book. If any of you haven't read this series I HIGHLY recommend it. It's fantabulous!
Can't wait for "Courting Trouble", Dee! And I can't believe you didn't want to be a writer! Isn't it funny how God works? I just love his sense of humor!
So Miz Dee, what was it about the writing life that you thought you wouldn't like? And were you right?!
Wow, Jenster. I haven't read that series, yet. Guess I'll have to take care of that, eh?
Your dog is beautiful, Shar. What a wonderful picture of the two of you. I know what you mean about the TBR pile, mine is growing and now Jenster has just added to it!
You're so funny, Katybug. You're welcome and I *love* the pic you sent in. It's soooo cute!
Barb, Considering the fact that I couldn't read, that kinda ruled out writing. You know? But now that I can read and write, I must admit, I love my job!
Well yeah, I could see how the reading thing could hinder the writing thing! I just wondered if you had any vision of, like, being cooped up in a dark room on a nice day, struggling with your latest book as your cigarette smolders in the nearby ash tray and your coffee grows cold. That kinda thing....
Congratulations guys! Have a wonderful time reading! I'm counting down the days until it's offical release.
Shar, your dog is absolutely gorgeous - sounds big too!
I LOVED the series by Francine Rivers. "Voice" and "Echo" were my favorites (loved Hadassah and Marcus) but the third book was also good.
Deeanne: Congrats on the RITA nom. My romance reader's book club read A Bride most Begrudging as a club read last year and we all enjoyed it. (We do not all typically like a book. Go figure.)
I'm commenting so I can be entered in the contest for the Courting Trouble arc. I'd love to make the other club members jealous!
Best of luck,

What great news for Katy and Sharlene to win "Courting". Hope my name is drawn next. Sounds like a fun story.
I am so excited about your new book! Can't wait to read it.
My daughter and i just finished your first book The Begrudging Bride. Compared to other 'inspirational' books which seem to be fake with all the preaching, this was refreshing and kept our attention. I especially liked the grandmother knowing the Earl. That was an interesting twist. We look forward to the next book.
I'm not a big reader of blogs, but I am an enthusiastic reader of your books and am looking forward to getting "Courting Trouble" when it comes out. Thanks for providing us with excellent stories to read at the end of busy days.
I just wanted to say that I have both of your first books and have loved them. I can't wait for Courting Trouble. I told my husband that he can get it for me for my birthday (I turn 40 in June)!!
Oh, yes! You really do need to put this trilogy on your list. In typical Francine Rivers style you'll cry for sadness and cry for joy. Do you know Victoria Bylin by any chance? She's written for Harlequin Historical and now she's writing for their new inspirational line. She's a great writer. Even her secular books have a great, redeeming message to them. Anyway, she keeps telling me about this book or that book and my wish list at B&N is growing and growing. Like I don't already have enough books on my shelf to keep me busy for the next year! LOL

I have to admit that EOS is just the cutest thing ever. As my husband and I contemplated another child or two (we adopt and last time we ended up adding three to our family) and a bigger car, we lamented not having a cute little convertible. We agreed that when the last one goes off to college, I get a black convertible. Maybe I can move the time schedule up to "when the last one gets a driver's license." As to your first job in high school -- how about scooping ice cream? That was mine and since I want a black convertible and you wanted one . . . Maybe we have completely parallel lives.
I enjoyed the first 2 books and can't wait to read the third. Historical novels are my one of my passions.
Wow! It's great to hear from so many first timers out there. Now that you've taken the big step and posted a comment, maybe you'll become one of our "regulars!"
Barb, the nice thing about laptops is I don't ever have to feel "cooped up" when writing. My muse and I can wander from room-to-room or even outdoors if it's pretty. (Loved your description, though. Maybe *you* should become a writer!!)
Don't know Victoria Bylin, Jen, but will definitely look her up.
I'd for sure change the time frame for that black convertible, Beth!
Happy Birthday, Carolyn! The big 4-0!! That's a fun one!
Congratulations on your nomination for the "Rita" award. You did a great job and I'm eagerly awaiting the release of the next masterpiece, "Courting Trouble"! Keep writing, God is so good. I do believe God answers all prayers, "sometimes yes, sometimes no, and sometimes, YOU'VE GOT TO BE KIDDING!":) Congratulations to the last two winners of your drawing!

I was in the store today checking to see if there are any new books out yet by our favorite writer, Deeanne! Dah, I should have remembered that the last newsletter had said "June". I cannot wait! I am a middle-aged mommy with two kids graduating next month and off they go. I am also a full-time student, but I have 3 weeks left till the semester is over, then I can READ to my hearts content. :-) Keep those books coming Deeanne!! I own your first two books.
Both of my kids drive--18 and 25, so they are gone 98% of time, very quiet indeed, when they leave I don't know what I will do, I guess read and study and spend time with the hubby, when he isn't working.
I'm so thankful that you decided to become a writer. I find your books to be very inspirational. As I read them I find myself hungry for the word of God. Thank you for using the gift that God gave you, your books have really touched my life.
First of all, I was so glad to get the e-mail telling us "Courting Trouble" comes out in June. Then to find out I could possibly win a copy just by blogging? That is right up my alley. I can talk about anything given the chance! =) Sharlene, I smiled really big at your picture, because your dog reminds me of my Blue Merle Sheltie, Shadow. Your dog is beautiful! And Jenster, I totally agree about the "Mark of the Lion" series Francine Rivers wrote. At the end of "Voice" (the first book) I was just sobbing, but thankfully they had a sneak peek at the first chapter of "Echo" in the back of the book, and I HAD to find out what happened. I was totally unprepared for that first chapter. I started screaming and laughing and I'm sure my sister (I was visiting at the time) thought I had lost my mind.
(I told y'all I could blog!)
One more thing...I just finished Cathy Marie Hake's "Letter Perfect" and "Bittersweet" (it's just out this month) and LOVED them! My best friend (the one who started me on Dee's books) suggested them, and I'm so glad she did! Anyone else read them?
Okay, well, that should do it as my first time ever blog. Thanks for the opportunity to spout about my love for reading! (sorry it's so long!)
I absolutely LOVED Deeanne's first two books. I cannot wait for the next one. It was luck indeed to find this author!

I am not an avid "blogger," but I am an avid reader and have read and loved your two previous books. I am soooooo looking forward to Courting Trouble!
Thanks, everybody, and I'm so *proud* of you for taking the "big step" and posting a comment! See?! It didn't hurt at all! ;-)
Looking forward to hearing from you ladies more often now, okay?
Congralatioms!! I'm looking forward to reading Courting Trouble even if I don't win. I'm reading Waiting for Summer's Return by Kim Vogel Sawyer now. I've read most of the Mitford series.

Congrats to the winners!!!
Am so looking forward to reading Courting Trouble. I have read and loved your 1st 2 books. My romance readers book club read A Bride Most Begruding as a club read ans all liked it. (WOW!rare thing here)
My sister-in-law loved The Measure of a Lady. I sent it to her and she read it in a couple of days. I would love to get a free copy of your latest and greatest to send to her. If I don't have time before (life with a toddler) I will read Courting Trouble during my maternity leave in September.
Hi! This is my first time posting a comment, though I've been reading Dee's blog for awhile now. I rarely comment on blogs, I guess I'm always waiting for something profound to say. Realizing now that that day may never come I have decided to go ahead and post a boring comment :) Dee, I really enjoy your blog and have loved your first two books. Reading them always put me in such a happy mood :) I'm finding it hard to find a suitable substitute so I can't wait for Courting Trouble to be released. Have a blessed day everyone! ---Donna
I have read ALOT of Christian Fiction............and............I love yours best ! cant wait for next book.........Keep it up.........Lisa
Loved your first 2 books. Looking forward to Courting Trouble.
I must say, as excited as I am about Courting Trouble, I was a bit saddened to learn that a sequal will come out next summer. Do you even know how hard that is going to be, reading this book then having to wait SO LONG for the next one? Your books are going to become my next Harry Potter. Can we have a midnight release party?!?
I'm just sooooo tickled to hear from y'all. It really makes my day.
And, I sincerely hope you're not waiting until you have something *profound* to say before you comment. (LOL, Donna!) It's just us chickens. So don't be shy!
LOL on the midnight release party, Erin. That sounds sooooo fun. If only I could stay awake that long! Ha!
