Here's the photo we put in our Christmas cards this year with our lovely new daughter-in-law front and center! (To make the photo larger, right click and view in a new window)
It is my hope and prayer that you will have a truly wonderful and blessed Christmas and a fabulous new year.
Remember the photo contest my daughter entered? Well, her "lightning" photo won first place in the Landscape category and will be displayed in the Student Center of her university for the rest of the year! Is that so fun?
She said when she went to see it she was looking at other entries and overheard other people looking at hers and saying, "Wow! That's amazing!" "Do you think it's real? Do you think it was touched up?" "That one definitely should have won."
Anyway, we are awfully proud. (To see a larger version of the photo, right click and open in a new window.) AND her "rosary" pic won Honorable Mention in the "People" category. Not bad, eh?
Each member of our family took a personality test based on Taylor Hartman's The Color Code. I like it so much better than the Meyers-Briggs for a couple of reasons. Meyers-Briggs has 16 categories, The Color Code has four. Meyers-Briggs tells us how the personality types act, The Color Code explains why.
The Color Code breaks down everyone into four basic color groups:
RED: The annoying bossy types
BLUE: Moody artists
WHITE: Unmotivated layabouts
YELLOW: Party animals
That's obviously an oversimplification, but your color explains the motivation behind your behavior. And your color is not something learned, it's something you're born with. Though I mentioned the weaknesses of the personality types above, there are so many positives attached to each color (for example, Reds are fantastic, natural-born leaders).
To find out what color you are, click here and take a free 15 minute test (you don't have to sign up for email lists or anything). At the end of the test, you'll find out what color you are. I'm a yellow. Take a peek at what motivates me (everything is spot-on except for the "uncommitted" part ... I'm very, very committed and very, very loyal):
Each person also has, of course, a strong secondary color. Mine is Red. So, the red in me is constantly trying to train the yellow in me! Ha. My overall pie chart indicated that I was:
60% party animal
30% annoying bossy type
9% moody artist
1% unmotivated layabout
To find out your secondary colors, you have to pay for it, though. :(
In our family, we had 2 reds, 2 yellows, 1 blue and 1 white! No wonder things are always in an uproar around here! :) Anyhoo, take the test and leave a comment telling us what color you are!
We're extending our Pet Contest to January 1st. We've had some great entries so far. A goat that lets chickens ride on her back. A one-eyed cat. A dog who has its own blog. Two super-hero pups (One named Steve Rogers, aka. Captain America--pictured on the left--and one dressed up as Wonder Woman). And many, many more!
If you'd like for your pet to have a chance to be in Dee's new book, click here. I'd love to hear your funny stories. We haven't gotten too many rabbits, fish, turtles, snakes, rodents, exotics or anything like that. So, keep 'em comin'! I'll announce the winners around February.
