American Christian Fiction Writers Conference

This past weekend I was at the ACFW conference in Dallas.  I saw many good buddies (that's a picture of me and Leanna Ellis).  When we are all through here with our "Journey To Publication" with its "Behind the Scenes" extras, I'm going to have a lot to catch you up on.

So, stay tuned this fall for more on:

  • ACFW
  • Christy Awards
  • RWA
  • Our family's cruise vacation

Meanwhile, this here's a sneak peak at ACFW (And guess what?  Elvis was in the building!!)

The ACFW conference in Dallas was a wonderful event, chocked full of so much info that by Saturday night my brain had gone into locked mode--absolutely nothing more seeped through--not kidding. You guys, Dee is absolutely cuter than any picture she may have up on this loop!!!!! And also, if I may, let me please indulge you with a little story that touched my heart clear through. On Saturday, as I was leaving the ballroom after lunch to go up to my room to freshen up for the book-signing event, my phone rang. I searched through my purse and finally laid hold of it. It was my sweet hubby. (We live in Michigan.) I asked him if he'd played golf that morning. He said he'd decided to play on Friday instead. I asked him what his plans for the day were, and he said, "Oh, just hanging out." Then he asked what I was doing. I told him I was heading up to my room to freshen up. He said, "How come? You look nice already." I giggled as I hurried toward the elevator and said, "Gee, thanks, sweetie!" He said, "No, I'm serious. You look pretty in your pink dress." I stopped dead in my tracks and looked down at my pink dress. Huh? I made a frantic search of the hotel lobby and found my man standing on the other side, phone to his ear, conniving smile on his face. Now, that, my precious friends, is why I write romance! (grin) Dee, you have permission to use that little illustration of "surprised by love" in any of your upcoming stories! hee-hee. Or maybe I will beat you to it! Love and great big hugs to everyone in cyberland. Shar

Blogging is like getting mail from lots of folks on a regular basis...and who doesn't like getting mail? I may not comment every time but I do enjoy the glimpse into your daily lives. Makes my day-in/day-out routine a little less tedious! Thanks for sharing! p.s. Your stories are wonderful, definite keepers. Can't wait for the sequel!
